     The death took place early this morning of Alfred Sawyer, at the local school hospital.

The Empress Express, November 28, 1918, Page 8
     The burial took place on Friday last, November 22, of Alfred Sawyer, aged twenty years.  Death took place on Thursday, November 21, and was due to pneumonia.  The body was intered in the Empress cemetery in the presence of immediate relatives and friends.  Rev. G. G. Pybus conducted the service.
